<h2 style="text-align: center;">
The Fault in our Stars...</h2>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
... is a YA contemporary book by John Green about cancer, and probably one of the most hyped books I know.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: center;">
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The world is cruel. And that's exactly the message this book delivers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Fault in our Stars is not perfect. But hell, it was touching. I really didn't expect to like it this much.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, I usually have a problem with hyped books. There are many I dislike (like Divergent, even though Insurgent was way better imo, or The Host or Eragon) and so I was very skeptical when I started TFIOS. I didn't buy it, my best friend did and I could read it, but now I guess I have to get my own version.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Though I'm unsure if I can read this again.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I cried the last 20something pages straight. There is always this glimmer of hope that it sonehow will have a happy ending, but you KNOW it won't. It's something I'd write, actually. I can understand why an author would do this. BUT WHY COULD HE DO THIS ;A;</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At the beginning the romance part felt a bit insta-love-y, but that feeling quickly vanished and made room for a understandable lovestory that was not too fast but also not too slow. Hazel and Augustus may not be my fave pairing in literature history, but they did have a nice chemistry.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The characters... Didn't feel like teenagers. Sure, they are bound to be more mature due to their fates, but sometimes especially Gus sounded way too old. But I can look over that. It's a flaw, but one that didn't bother me while reading. Most of the chars were nice enough, I liked them, especially Isaac.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for the language, I don't know how you can write about this topic and manage to sound funny, emotional and realistic (though I have no idea how this would work out in RL, if it is a realistic as it sounds... It's simply... Dunno. *shrug*) at the same time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And the ending is the cruelest thing I've ever read.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hell, I think I need tissues again.</div>
</div>

<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You know what's strange? That I like these books.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yeah, you heard right. I, Bloody, who disliked <i>Divergent </i>and <i>Matched</i> and all that other hyped stuff, liked <i>The Elite.</i> A book which basically consists of nothing (with cheese).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And the part that disturbs me the most is that I don't even know why.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Because, let's face it, the <i>Selection</i> series is garbage. It's a big mess, with no real plot aside of the Selection itself (and America wondering if she loves Aspen or Maxon), most of the characters are horribly written and / or I just disliked them with a burning passion and unless <i>The One</i> ends with a giant massacre where everybody dies (though that would be kinda fitting) you cannot talk of decent foreshadowing either, everything is pretty clear.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
Sure, there still is the caste system and we finally meet some rebels, oh, and Maxon, but that's about it. Everything else? America was annoying, Aspen should go die, so should Celeste, and Kriss, and the king... I did like Marlee and Maxon and Silvia and Amberly, oh, and the cousins of the Italian princess, they were epic, but that's about it. And Natalie should at least pretend she has a brain.<br />
<br />
Oh, and Team Maxon by the way. Though Maxon did some pretty bad things and I won't ever forgive him for that thing with Celeste, his defense towards America was no excuse, he's still a million times better than overly-perfect Aspen, a character made to lurve and yet is so loathsome.<br />
<br />
If you search for a stupid, cheesy, dystopian-y lovestory (that's what the series is, honestly) and are not easily annoyed by nothing happening, this is for you. Actually, it wouldn't be something for me either. I need action, I can't take cheesy stuff (Oh, the pain while reading <i>Passion</i>. The paiiiiin.), and if nothing happens, I'm not interested. Maybe it's the covers that draw me in so much. No idea. *shrug* Really, I can't even tell you why I like it. It's just how it is.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i>Could I do this?</i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yeah... Like I was saying. (I just needed to make the review seem longer, because it took way too long and I'm exhausted.)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
The Selection</h2>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
... is a YA dystopian novel by Kiera Cass and book one in the Selection trilogy which consists of <i>The Selection</i> (duh), <i>The Elite</i> and <i>The One. </i>And since I am almost finished with <i>The Elite</i>, I don't want to have <i>Siege and Storm</i> 2.0, but actually have both books reviewed...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What would be better than a good old short review? o/ (AKA lemme just copypaste my old goodreads review and pretend it's something new.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1368417576l/16248068.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1368417576l/16248068.jpg" width="132" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Volume 2: The Elite</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Damn it. I really thought I would hate it. To be honest, I WANTED to hate it, just because I wanted to laugh about it's ridiculousness.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I was pretty much blown away when I found out I actually <b>enjoyed</b> this book.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't get me wrong. Though I didn't find major plot holes or things that just didn't make sense, <i>The Selection</i> is definetely not a good novel. The characters, especially America and Aspen, were far too Mary-Sue-ish, there was too few action for a dystopian story - we didn't even get to see ONE rebel! - and so on.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, what makes me like <i>The Selection</i> so much? Can't be the overwhelming plot since it basically wasn't there or the awesome romance since I grew to hate Aspen and there wasn't much ongoing between Maxon and America until the end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I liked the world. The caste system isn't something I've seen much in dystopian novels, at least not in this way. I know you cannot compare <i>The Selection</i> to <i>The Hunger Games</i> but I'll do it anyway. I'm a bad girl, I know. In Panem there are the districts and of course, district 1 is wealthier than district 12. But there is no real caste system. It's not like someone from 12 isn't allowed to do anything for money besides serving someone from a wealthier district (that'd be a Six in <i>The Selection</i>) or that everyone in 11 is homeless like an Eight in Illéa. It was refreshing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, America was, if she didn't whine because of Aspen, a nice main character. Sure, she was way too perfect and beautiful and blahblahblah, but it's not like I couldn't take her character.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Aspen, however, can go to hell. Nuff said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1380212021l/15844362.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1380212021l/15844362.jpg" width="131" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Volume 3: The One</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Maxon, despite being a peeeeerfeeeeeect *coughcough* prince had his flaws, even if it weren't many. I liked him way better than Aspen, though sometimes I really wanted to kill him for what he did. I'm just gonna say Olivia. -.-" How rude was that?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The minor characters were fine too, aside of Celeste, who was a huge bitch and kind of the cliché 'so perfect everyone loves her but actually she is meeeeeeaaaaan' opponent.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for the plot... Like I already said, there was none. Two rebel attacks, but the girls stayed in safe rooms so we didn't see much of them, and a few photo shootings. I had expected that would drive me crazy, but really, it didn't. The America-and-Maxon-scenes were sweet, the growing friendships between the girls were nice to follow and so on. Still, I can't take the America-and-Aspen-scenes, but thank god or Arceus or whatever there is, he didn't reappear until the last, 60 pages or so.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall a very nice read and I look forward to <i>The Elite</i>!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And also, these covers are gorgeous. <b>Look at these covers, guys.</b></div>

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone - one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship - tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you take a look at my shelves and my ratings, you'll notice that they don't quite add up... Wasted potential, but I was also surprised? Huh?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yeah, the thing is, <i>Across the Universe </i>could be even better than it already is. Okay, every book could (aside from <i>The Iron Fey </i>and the Grisha trilogy, oh, and <i>Vampire Academy</i>. They're flawless.), but the 'bad' things about <i>Across the Universe </i>are things that are improvable, I'm pretty sure Beth Revis could have pulled that off...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But this book still managed to shock me, glue me to the pages and make me go all "WTF just happened". Sometimes it even was pretty disturbing. Hell, I couldn't even read the first chapter without little breaks. I just hate such scenes, I hate hate hate them. >.< Err... And my point is that <i>Across the Universe</i> is a prrrretty hyped book, especially around German bloggers, and I tend to dislike hyped books (see <i>Divergent</i>, <i>Matched</i>, <i>shiver</i>...) so I didn't expect this book to be so good. Makes sense? ... I hope.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, what were these improvable things? First of all, the writing. I have no problem with few descriptions, but they were basically nonexistent in <i>Across the Universe</i>. What does everything look like? No idea. Also, the two main characters, Amy and Elder, who tell the story, sound so alike I sometimes forgot who was narrating and had to look it up again at the beginning of the chapter. They had the exact same voice, the same preferences, the same personalities. Kinda reminds me of <i>Legend</i> where it was the same. Dunno.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then I have to criticize the romance. While I like Amy and have no real opinion about Elder, it just felt rushed and kinda insta-love-ish, with lots and lots of fascinatioooooon stuff and blah blah blah. There was about no chemistry, of course there wasn't, because the romance didn't develop, it was simply there...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, though that's just a minor point, the characters, if not unsympathetic, were boring. I've seen these types of characters before and before, the only character that really stood out was Harley, one of my favorite characters by the way. I did like the others though.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Buttttt <i>Across the Universe</i> also had its shockig moments - and I mean <b>shocking </b>moments - and I was unable to put it away. You can't say this book is not exciting, not in the slightest! In fact, every time I tried to put it down I couldn't because there was always something happening, which caused me to almost oversleep 'cause I'm a night-reader and I finished <i>Across the Universe </i>around 3 am... My alarm clock was set on 6. Awe-some, I tell ya. But it was worth it. Because after all, I can really recommend this if you search for a nice Sci-Fi-Dystopia-Mystery-thingie!</div>

Darkness never dies.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land. She finds starting new is not easy while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. She can’t outrun her past or her destiny for long.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her--or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #45818e;"><br /></span></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh my friggin' alpaca gosh.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only reason I haven't reviewed <i>Shadow and Bone</i> here (but I do have a <a href="http://its-my-inkheart.blogspot.de/2013/08/rezensiongrischa-goldene-flammenshadow_14.html">German review</a> and one on <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/482513490">Goodreads</a>, which, by the way, is my home and my castle. I mean Goodreads, not the review. Long live Goodreads!) is because I was too lazy, so I should probably tell you that I absolutely loved <i>S&B</i>, it stands on the top of the list of the best books ever in the same spot with <i>The Iron Queen</i>, which is 1st. And that means something.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Though <i>Siege and Storm </i>was not as good as its predecessor, mainly because I had nothing to criticize when reviewing <i>S&B </i>and I have 3 minor points that I don't like about <i>S&S</i> (okay, 4, if you count the fact that I can't pronounce 'Siege'), but that doesn't make this book less amazing! My third favorite series ever was the Ruby Red series by Kerstin Gier, but I think the Grisha trilogy just took its place. Sorry, Gwen, but Alina is better than you. =(</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The two critic points I have are the lovestory between Alina and Mal, which I just don't feel, Mal himself, who I just don't like, and the fucking release date of <i>Ruin and Rising.</i> June 2014? ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Caaaaalm down, Bloody. Noone's going to kill you. *looks around smiling like a maniac* Yeah. Maybe I should tell you why exactly I didn't feel anything or why I don't like Mal... Well, actually, I didn't like the lovestory because I don't like Mal, so I just have to explain why I don't like Mal. He just bothers me to no end. He behaves like a total idiot, he doesn't understand Alina and treats her like a piece of shit, he basically cheats on her with Zoya and is completely stupid for drinking so much and fighting when he's supposed to be at his best guarding Alina and fighting in the army. Paired with his (for me unreasonable) jealousy, nnope, that doesn't sound too good, does it?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sounds worse than it is. The Grisha trilogy lives from its story, not the romance, and if it did the latter, I'd probably dislike it. But the plot was just awesome! I love Leigh Bardugo's pacing - much happens, but it never ever feels rushed or something like this, it's just perfect. Reminds me of the pacing of my beloved Julie Kagawa, though she did have some stretched parts in <i>The Immortal Rules</i>, but still, both of them manage to keep me glued to the pages, wondering what happens next.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And there are so many open questions! What exactly does the Apparat want? Is the Darkling really beyond the point of redemption? What's happened to Nikolai, one of the characters I'd like to see with Alina and one of my favourite characters? Will Alina give in to the darkness that's filling her? (Another point I just adore. I have a feeling that this is going dark. And I mean deadlocked-dark. Deadlocked is one of my stories where in the beginning everything is fine and fun and sarcasm everywhere but at the end all the main characters end up torn apart. And since Bardugo seems to push Alina right in this direction, I am REALLY afraid of what might happen to her.) And the most important (that was sarcasm, by the way.): who does Alina end up with? I'm prrrrretty sure it'll be Mal, but I still have hopes for Nikolai and the Darkling. You go, guys! o/</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
*checks mental checklist* <span style="font-size: x-small;">Critique? Check. Plot? Check. Fangirling over Bardugo's and Julie Kagawa's pacing? Check. Questions? Check. Fangirling over the Darkling... Uncheck!</span> Uh. Yes. I didn't fangirl over the Darkling, so... Yeah. I mean, I really shouldn't love him after everything he's done, but I can't help it, he's so fucking interesting and so amazing and so gorgeous and so waaaaaah *-* With his 'visits' I really started to wonder: is he really evil or just lonely? I mean, there were a few hints about that and I so want to know if he can be redeemed or if there is no chance and everyone ends up dead...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why, yes, I do believe that Leigh Bardugo can make this into a bad ending where everything goes downhill. There are authors who do that. (Cough, cough, deadlocked, cough, cough.) And I have no doubts that Bardugo can make it work, but I'm still afraid. I don't want to lose them all! ;A;</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i>Their crew were white mice who sang songs and scrubbed the decks with their pink tails.</i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To sum it up in one word: INEEDRUINANDRISINGSOBADLY!! Yeah. That should be it. Oh, and while writing this review I listened to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsc6HO-D4II">Outer Science</a>. One bad word about the Kagerou Project and you'll end up as dead as I will after finishing Ruin and Rising. (Also, nobody kills my Kano! I will never forgive you for that, Kuroha! T.T)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
T<span style="font-size: x-small;">AG-ADDICT RIGHT HERE</span>, so this was perfect for me. And since there are no other tags on TRA yet, I figured I'd do the Marry, Kiss, Cliff Tag here. The rules are easy: put the names of characters you like (most of them are my fangirl-characters, but there are a few I just like, mostly to have someone to kill and so that I'd have three characters to choose every round =D) into a bowl, then randomly pick three and choose who of them you'd marry, kiss or throw of a cliff. So let's start this, shall we? o/</div>

<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Even Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce – he goes out of his way to make that very clear. But she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret...even if it kills her.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #45818e;">Now, at my new school, they got even stronger.</span></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Such a shame. So much potential going to waste, such an awesome idea eventually being so deformed that it's only good for the garbage. You know, I actually liked the first book. It got three and a half bloodroses on my German blog, because it might have been a big pile of shit, but still I enjoyed <i>Fallen</i> very much, mainly because of the amazing background characters. <i>Torment</i> was on the edge of fine, but boring as hell. And then there was <i>Passion</i>, which lives up to its name because I hated it with burning passion, and I am not lying if I declare this the worst book I've ever read, which makes Fallen one of the worst series I've ever read, hence the lowest rating. Yeah, I could have reviewed the books seperately but in the end, even if I look back to the first book, the <i>Fallen</i> series is shit. So... Sorry? I guess?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But let me tell a little story first, shall we?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm just writing some kind of fanfiction, though that may be the wrong word - its story is pretty much alike to that of the <i>Fallen</i> series, but it has two main characters. The first one, Ginger, is part of the dies-when-kissed-thing, and her love interest, Jeremy, is the fallen angel who completes this lovestory. But Jer is no Daniel, who's an abusive boyfriend, and Ginger is no Luce, who doesn't even care for that fact because LOOOOVE. I'm not an amazing author, but I bet the outcome will be better than the one of this series.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other character is named Persephone... Or at least that's the name she gave herself, her real name is Sophia. She's a 'shadow', my equivalent of the <i>Fallen</i> demons, and a pretty powerful one, also a big leader of the Angel Unity, where shadows and true angels (the so-called 'good angels') alike fight against the 'lightless' (AKA my Outcasts) and try to keep the fragile peace they achieved after milleniums of war between shadows and true angels. There are epic fights, Sophia falls in love too, with a weaker shadow, and in the end the war is unpreventable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why am I telling you this? Well, look at that, and than look at Fallen. Everything I write in <i>Starfall</i>, which is the name of the story, is based on <i>Fallen</i>. Okay, maybe not the Angel Unity thing, but that was some idea of mine thinking about how some kind of unity like this could work - based on <i>Fallen</i> too. But instead of the, hm original, <i>Starfall</i> won't have a sappy romance that doesn't consist of love, but subjection, it will have a lovestory that's actually believable - if I manage to make it feel believable, that is - and the war everyone announced in <i>Fallen</i> will actually by part of <i>Starfall</i> and you can see it through the eyes of a girl who lived her whole life with that war, whose only wish it is to prevent the peace from ever breaking again, just to shatter this wish at the end...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my view of a good story. The thing is, <i>Fallen</i> had the potential to be as awesome as what I just told you, but instead of using it and creating a story I would have adored, the whole plot circeled around a stupid heroine who has no character, an abusive, unsympathetic love interest and their so-called 'love' where you can feel nothing. Oh, and deus ex machina, a whole lot of Mary Sue-ness (the bad kind. Not the 'she is perfect, but she still feels human, so for me she isn't Mary Sue while she may be for others', but the 'damn, this girl can do everything, be the most awesome thing ever, everybody loves her and <b>still</b> she has no character!' kind of Mary Sue) and not to forget plot holes, plot holes everywhere. And logical issues. Lauren Kate seems to forget her own rules sometimes. All demons have golden wings... <i>Why are Molly's cupper-colored then?!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Luce is by far the worst heroine I've read of. Not only is she the bad kind of Mary Sue as explained, but she's just completely <i style="font-weight: bold;">stupid</i>! The thing is, the story tells us she isn't. She's able to speak French very well and she uses great vocabulary and oh my gosh, she loves maths! She must be a genius! But when it comes to important things, like, saving the world and shit, or realizing her boyfriend treats her as if they lived in some time where women were property, she fails at bringing any of her brain cells to work. And it's devastating.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Daniel isn't better. You probably know by now that I hate him, I think I made that clear enough, and also the fact that he's an abusive boyfriend, and yet everybody seems to love him. Except Cam. At the beginning. That's the point where I usually scream "WHY THE FUCK QWDBZIGKFDDFBHFWHKIOHARGH", but actually, I'm already exhausted and my whole anger went away when I wrote my <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/581808590">original <i>Passion </i>review</a> and now it's all gone and I can't even rant anymore. At least not as much as I'd like to. ;A;</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The redeeming quality this book has is its side characters. There's Cam, who I absolutely love, there's Arriane, one of the funniest crazy characters I know, there's Gabbe and Molly who I didn't care much for but they were fine, there's Roland, who's pretty cool... Even the characters who are introduced later, like Dee, managed to be sympathetic and likeable. Hell, even Lucifer was a better character than Luce and Daniel! <b>And he was the big antagonist!</b> (Who did about nothing in the non-existent final battle. Yes, you've read right. No final battle. Nothing that even comes close. Where was the goddamn final battle?!) Otherwise, this series is shit. Even if you've read book 1 and liked it, it's not worth reading more. Trust me. You'll regret reading it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh, and also, the German summery on the back of the book spoils pretty much the entire series. Even though I don't think they could have known it when they wrote it. It only becomes clear at the end of <i>Rapture</i>, so I think it was just a misinterpretation - nowwhere in the book stood what Luce was. That's about the most major plot point in the whole series. The sad thing is that they were right - which really doesn't say good things about the predictability of <i>Fallen</i>...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i>Sometimes I believe only an angel could save me. But I've never believed in angels.</i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You think about reading this series? Don't. Honestly. Just... Don't. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before I start this review, let me get one thing clear: I love this series more than anything else... Well, anything else literature-ish, that is. But honestly, I'm not lying when I call <i>The Iron Fey</i> my favorite book series of all time and Julie Kagawa my favorite author of all time - her Blood of Eden series is awesome too, go check it out if you haven't, and I'll read anything of her, even if it's about rainbow-puking unicorns doing nothing but... Well, puke rainbows... Or something like that. So, this review will be very biased and probably pretty fangirly. But who the hell cares? Let's get this started!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The plot was well-paced, not too slow and not too fast, but always interesting, even if it wasn't all action-y and exciting. And I have no other word to describe the plot other than 'magical'. Honestly. Much blood is shed, many die, but in the end, everything turned out just fine, and I love it. The only thing I have to criticize is the predictability - I guessed the identity of the false king as soon as he was introduced and I was right, the... The sacrifice at the end of <i>The Iron Knight</i> was probably inevitable... These kinds of stuff. But I don't care, because I never felt less entertained because of this. And sometimes there were really big plot twists which had me all like 'wtf. No. NO. That didn't just happen', just look at the ending of the first part of <i>The Iron Knight</i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This books made me feel like I was somewhere else. Julie Kagawa's prose is just so wonderful, it doesn't flood you with descriptions but it never lacks any... Well, descriptions. Lol. I didn't feel as if I were watching the story, but if i were a part of it, living through the same things as the characters do, and that's the best thing an author can achieve.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Meghan is a wonderful character. She may not be kick-ass and can be a little bit naive, but honestly, I can look over that. She's strong when she needs to be, especially in <i>The Iron Queen</i> where she learns how to wield a sword and takes on the false king, but eventually has to sacrifice everything... Damn, that was just so dramatic and I'm not overreacting when I say I cried. A lot. Thinking about how<i> The Iron Fey</i> originally was just intended to be a trilogy, I just... I just can't. Dammit. Meghan, y u make me cry? I can't even be angry on her because it was such a great plot twist, even though it was foreshadowed from the beginning of <i>The Iron Daughter.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also love Ash to pieces. Especially in <i>The Iron King</i> he was just gorgeous, with all his coldness towards Meghan and his backstory... Though my fangirling switched to Cam (<i>Fallen</i>) and Damon (<i>The Vampire Diaries</i>) by now, I still adore him and he definitely stands on my list of characters I would date. Also, he's a surprisingly deep and well-developed character, his change from icy to loveble doesn't feel rushed or unbelievable, but actually understandable. Well done, Julie!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While I'm not too fond of Meghan and Puck together, I still love Puck and his jokes and his personality and about everything else about him! He lightened up the mood but could still be serious - though that didn't happen too often - and pretty dangerous in a fight, even though it never felt like it. I would have liked him to find love at the end, but sadly he never did... I feel bad for him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Grim deserves an extra paragraph, because he's a cat. And I love how he is just <b>there</b>, even though he says he doesn't like humans and thinks he's better than everyone else, I really think he treasures Meggie, Ash and Puck. And that he has a role in the spin-off, <i>Call of the Forgotten</i>, too, is a really nice throwbag to the original series. But honestly, what would this series be without Grimalkin?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also really liked the side characters, especially Leanansidhe (who has a name I can't pronounce) and Mab and Oberon and <b>everyone</b>. ♥ Gah. There's no character I hate. ... Well, maybe Rowan. That asshole. But still, he was a fine character, just unlikable...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><span style="color: #45818e;"><b>Countless stories, songs and poems have been written about this wonderful age, when a girl finds true love and the stars shine for her and the handsome prince carries her off into the sunset.</b></span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You haven't read this? <b>GO READ IT.</b> I have nothing more to say. ♥</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
H<span style="font-size: x-small;">ELLO EVERYBODY</span>! My name is Blutrose (which is German for Bloodrose) but you may call me Bloody. Actually I already have a book blog called 'My Inkheart', but it's completely in German and since I read many English books too and almost all my Goodreads-Reviews are in English, I thought I'd make something like this. Why? Because alpaca, of course.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ah, that leads to the name of this blog. Why is it called <i>The Reading Alpaca</i>? Well, books... And because alpacas are awesome. Deep down we're all alpacas. =u=</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So... Yeah... Enjoy? =D<br />
<br />
Oh, and don't care about the 'Mia Dukatia'. That's just my Google+ Name ~</div>
